Note d'estate

The 10th edition of the international classical music festival ‘Note d'Estate’ will continue from 23 July to 13 August with four major events in Todi.
On Tuesday 23 July, the Cloister of the Liceo Jacopone da Todi, at 9 p.m., will welcome the Trio Klezmer, a formation consisting of Antonio Sacco (violin), Massimiliano Limonetti, (clarinets), Giorgio Dellarole (accordion) and the actor Paolo Zavattaro (speaker), who will transport those present into the world of the ‘Yiddish’ tradition. The role of the clarinet, an instrument that highlights two of the most typical aspects of Jewish culture with the sorrowful expressiveness of its low register and the sharp irony of its high register, stands out above all.
On Wednesday 31 July, again in the cloister of the Liceo Jacopone da Todi, it will be the turn of the Munedaiko, a group dedicated to the practice and appreciation of the traditional Japanese drum ‘Taiko’, which, through its vibrations, aims to deepen the harmony of the spirit in resonance with the mind and state of mind of every human being. Two appointments are scheduled: at 6 p.m. there will be the Taiko Music Lab, a dance and percussion workshop open to all; at 9 p.m., instead, space will be given to the music and dances of the Munedaiko Trio, composed of Mugen, Naomitsu and Tokinari Yahiro.
The month of August will see the presence in Todi of the young winners of two important international competitions: on Sunday 4 August, at 6.30 p.m., at the Church of the Nunziatina, Michiaki Ueno, first prize at the Geneva International Competition in 2021, will perform three of Bach's six Suites for cello solo, one of the greatest expressions of western classical music.
On Tuesday, 13 August, at 6 p.m., the Teatro Comunale in Todi will host a recital by Arsenii Moon, the overall winner of the 64th Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in which he also won the Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli Prize and the Audience Award. Settled in the United States but born in Russia, Arsenii Moon has been described as ‘a charmer of the piano’ and his career is taking him to all the most important halls in the world.
