Malakos Malacological Museum of Città di Castello
From the Pacific to the Indian Ocean, from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean: Malakos, with about 600,000 catalogued specimens, is the most extensive private collection of shells in Europe.
The collection, displayed in Villa Cappelletti in Città di Castello, is a real exploratory journey through the shells of the seven seas.
The museum is the result of years of work of the biologist Gianluigi Bini, Florentine by birth but of Città di Castello by adoption, who collected and studied about 15,000 different species, from every corner of the planet.
