2017 Tour of Italy's timed individual race as 10th Stage

On the 16th May, the towns of Foligno, Bevagna and Montefalco are going to host the timed individual race "Sagrantino's Timer" as the 10th Stage in the Tour of Italy's 100th edition.

The tour of Italy is one of most important multi-stage races of the world cycling calendar together with the other two international big races, the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España and is considered historically the second most prestigious stage race after the Tour.

The stage is going to cross most of the Sagrantino's area of production, touching also other districts, so to celebrate the 25 years of the Montefalco's DOCG Sagrantino and emphasising the food and wine specialties as well as the historical and artistic peculiarities of the area.

The timer will play even a more important role because it is linked to St. Francis' places: from Foligno, town where he stripped of his clothes as rich man, to the Pian D'Arca where he spoke to birds, until the Montelfalco's Municipal Square, few metres from the St. Francis' Museum Complex where Gozzoli painted the life of St. Francis in Assisi.

The calendar also includes a full program of events and side initiatives introducing  the Tour of Italy's 10th stage. for the complete calendar, click here.
