Unto 2024
The twelfth edition of Unto (Unesco, Nature, Territory, Oil), an event dedicated to freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil and the valorisation of the excellence of the territory, this year as part of the Frantoi Aperti event, will be held from 31 October to 1 December 2024 in Assisi.
There will be numerous appointments, including guided visits to the Unesco heritage site, tastings with experts in the sector, conferences, market exhibitions, trekking and cultural walks, concerts and workshops for children, as well as free visits to the oil mills, where you can experience the thrill of live pressing and taste the new oil on bruschetta.
Among this year's novelties is the return to Piazza del Comune of the market exhibition dedicated to extra virgin olive oil and other typical products of Assisi and Umbria, such as truffles, cured meats, legumes, wine, honey and lavender, which will be held from 31 October to 3 November and will feature various farms in the area. The exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with continuous opening hours and free entrance.
During the same, visitors will be able to take part in various free side events, such as tastings and sensory paths to olive oil in the Le Logge Gallery and concerts in the Sala della Conciliazione (Berazzi, Pradisi Pecci trio on 31 October, Steven Paris on 1 November, Resonars on the 2nd and Assisi in lirica and the Italian Opera Orchestra on the 3rd, also at 5pm).
During the days of the market exhibition, Unto's free shuttle bus will take patrons to discover the area's oil mills, where it will be possible to watch the pressing of the olives and taste the freshly pressed oil.
In addition, on 31 October, at 4 p.m., in the Le Logge Gallery, there will be space for the little ones, with readings by authors with a Halloween theme, while on 1 November, at 11 a.m., in the Sala della Conciliazione, in the Palazzo Comunale of Assisi, there will be a special appointment: the awarding of the ‘Falchetti Prize’.
