In three days it will be possible to retrace the steps of Francis of Assisi who, in the winter between 1206 and 1207, stripped of his goods in front of his father Pietro di Bernardone for then setting out from the Seraphic City towards Gubbio: from the 1st to the 3rd September pilgrims from all over Italy are arriving in Assisi for the ninth edition of “The Francis Path”.

The approximately 50 kilometers to go are a unique occasion to know better oneself and, at the same time, be in contact with others to share a unique experience through the historical and natural beauties of Umbria. 

This year it will be a particularly special edition, because in parallel with the pilgrimage “The Francis’ Path”, the Gubbio Diocese will host the 12th “National Day for the Care of Creation”.

The chosen topic to celebrate this day will be “Travellers along the God’ land” and it will deal with sustainable tourism and “care culture”, also in conjunction with the “World Day of Tourism” that the Cei aims to celebrate always in Gubbio in the first days of September.
