Borgo storico medievale di Giove

Historic medieval village of Giove

The historic center of Giove is a classic example of medieval structure: a dense series of alleys is intertwined within the perimeter delimited by medieval walls and characterized by overlapping arches, stairs and buttresses.

On the gateway of the village is the monogram of San Bernardino (IHS), who evangelized these lands during his work of apostolate in the early of the 15th century.
In medieval times, the road had two poles: the Town Hall entrance and the Church of San Giovanni Battista on the current Piazza Cento Tramonti to the opposite side.
