Festival Villa Solomei 2025
From 27th June to 1st July 2025, Solomeo will host the 26th edition of the Festival Villa Solomei, a celebration that brings together classical music, performing arts and world cultures. Founded in 1998 by the Canticum Novum Choir, the festival transforms the Umbrian village into a widespread stage, with events taking place in the Amphitheatre, Castle Square, Cucinelli Theatre and the Church of San Bartolomeo.
The 2025 edition features over 40 events in five days, with a special focus on African culture, exploring its sounds, dances and traditional instruments. The preview on 22 June, as part of the European Music Day, includes a conference and two concerts dedicated to the music of the African continent.
Among the guests: dancer Fernando Anuang’a, percussionist Kasiva Mutua, musician Msafiri Zawose, the afrobeat project by Made Kuti, and the Afrika Mamas with Mamadou Diabaté. Italian artists such as Maria Gabriella Mariani, Marco Serino, Nicoletta Sanzin, Giuseppe Scarpato, and actor Maurizio Lombardi are also featured.
The festival culminates on 29 June with the Concert under the Stars, featuring Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 2, performed by Accademia Hermans and 150 artists with period instruments and choirs.
