Congiura al Castello (Conspiracy at the Castle) will take place from 17 to 27 July 2024 at the Magione Castle, which will once again be the setting for intrigue, love stories and bloodshed with the Magione Theatre Company.
A travelling show will be staged, directed by Giampiero Frondini, with a script by Valter Corelli and G. Grondini and historical consultancy by Giovanni RIganelli, which will see the re-enactment of the conspiracy that Cardinal Orsini plotted against Cesare Borgia, known as 'the Valentine'.
Between 1500 and 1502, Borgia had seized the whole of Romagna and part of Le Marche. He and his father, Alexander VI, had gained hegemony over all the ecclesiastical territories. The Orsini family attempted to oppose what seemed an ineluctable destiny, plotting a conspiracy with some of the lords of Umbria and Le Marche, summoning them to the Castle of Magione.
The performances will be held in July on 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25 and 27, at 9.30 pm and 10.30 pm.
