The concert, entirely performed live, without pre-recorded backing tracks, will last about seventy minutes and will alternate on stage songs, poems and short stories on the theme of water as a resource not to be wasted and an indispensable element of our life and as a source of inspiration for artists of all times.
The objectives will be twofold: to make the public aware of the need for a correct use of water, urging everyone to become more ecologically aware, and to present an itinerary that intersects songwriting, poetry and fiction, offering new points of view on famous works dealing with water in its broadest sense.
Closing on 23 and 24 June is 'The tradition of Acqua di San Giovanni'.
The Acqua di San Giovanni is a traditional preparation of water and herbs that has a purifying function and is said to propitiate health and life. This perfumed water, with special properties, is prepared on the night between 23 and 24 June, the eve of the Nativity of St John the Baptist. On this night, which is also linked to the astronomical event of the summer solstice, legend has it that a dew falls that enhances the natural properties of plants and flowers. On 23 June in Marmore, the community will be invited to bring flowers and herbs to the space next to the parish church and place them in a large oak container filled with water, where they will be left overnight in the open, so that they can absorb the dew. The next day, anyone can go and get the 'perfumed' water and St John's blessing.
On 24 June at 11 a.m., the blessing of St John the Baptist will be imparted and St John's Water will be distributed to passers-by.
