From 21 to 28 September 2025, Orvieto will host the Orvieto Cinema Fest, now in its eighth edition. Held at the Teatro Mancinelli, in the historic centre, the festival offers a full week dedicated to the short film—a contemporary expressive form offering a concentrated and original perspective on reality.

As the first international festival in Umbria entirely dedicated to short films, Orvieto Cinema Fest is organised by the volunteer association Orvieto Cinema Fest ODV. The competition is open to directors from around the world, with the aim of welcoming diverse voices, languages and visions.

Over the years, the festival has hosted prominent figures from the Italian film scene, including Daniele Ciprì, Boris Sollazzo, Adriano Valerio, Stefano Cipani, Alice Rohrwacher, Francesca Mazzoleni and Beatrice Baldacci.

Beyond the festival week, the association also promotes cultural projects throughout the year, in collaboration with local and national organisations, to support cinema and short film culture.
