Program
2 Days
- DAY 1 - Arrival in Umbria after lunch and visit of Spello on one's own (suggested visit); arrival at the agriturismo / 3* hotel and accommodation in the room booked, rich welcome dinner in a restaurant selected by us, return to accommodation and overnight stay.
- DAY 2 - At 7 a.m., meet at the meeting point for the hot air balloon flight (place and time will be reconfirmed the day before the flight based on the weather forecast, in particular the winds); before departing, you will be given instructions on the flight and will be able to watch the final stages of inflating the balloon and lighting the balloon (approximately 30 minutes); the flight lasts about 1 hour. Upon landing, the shuttle bus will take you back to the meeting point to enjoy a rich breakfast with typical Umbrian products and a wine tasting with your fellow adventurers. The experience is scheduled to end around 9:30-10:00 a.m. NB : Transfer from your hotel/agriturismo to the meeting point, and vice versa, is provided upon request. The excursion is suitable for everyone. Following, visit of Assisi at leisure (suggested visit). Free lunch and departure.

Welcome - Visit to Spello - Welcome Dinner
Arrival in Umbria after lunch and accommodation in an agriturismo / 3* hotel between Foligno and Perugia according to availability upon confirmation. In the afternoon, visit Spello on your own (suggested visit).The Consular Gate marks the entrance to Spello or, as Julius Caesar called it, the"Splendidissima Colonia Julia", an enchanting village of Roman origin, listed among the most beautiful villages in Italy, thanks to its rich environmental, cultural and artistic heritage. Spello still preserves traces of its historical past with its ancient walls andProperzio Towers protecting Porta Venere, another access point to the town. The church of Santa Maria Maggiore can be reached by strolling through charming alleys and ancient streets, along which flowered balconies overlook the town and which, with the passage of time, have become true symbols of the town, and still remain one of its most sought-after attractions. The church houses an artistic treasure inside: theBaglioni Chapel, with Deruta majolica floor tiles and frescoes by Pinturicchio. Spello also boasts a rich picture gallery and, just outside the walls, a marvellous museum complex known as the 'Villa Dei Mosaici', which has unearthed 500 square metres of precious mosaics whose central theme is the grape harvest and wine.At approximately 21:00 - rich welcome dinner in a restaurant selected by us, drinks included. After dinner, return to accommodation and overnight stay.

Hot air balloon flight with breakfast and tasting - Visit to Assisi - Departure
Good morning! We get up early in the morning to enjoy one of the most beautiful and exciting experiences you could ever imagine: hot-air ballooning over Umbria! It is not only an undeniably privileged vantage point from which to observe the beauty of the region, but also an extraordinary adventure to cherish forever.
At 7 a.m., we reach the meeting point for the hot-air balloon flight (the meeting place and time will be reconfirmed the day before the flight based on the weather forecast, especially the winds). Before setting off, you will be given instructions on the flight, and you can watch the final stages of inflating the balloon and lighting the balloon (approximately 30 minutes), and we take off over the Umbrian valleys, discovering breathtaking views! At the end of the approximately one-hour flight, we will enjoy a rich breakfast with food and wine specialities from the region at a renowned local winery. The end of the experience is scheduled for around 9:30-10:00 a.m. NB: Transfer from your hotel/farm to the meeting point, and vice versa, is provided on request. The excursion is suitable for everyone.
Followed by a free visit to Assisi (suggested visit). Pax et Bonum! This is the greeting with which Assisi welcomes you, a Franciscan place par excellence, not only in Umbria and Italy, but throughout the world. St Francis was in fact born in Assisi in 1182; in the place where it is believed his birthplace was located, today stands the Chiesa Nuova. It is in Assisi that he was baptised, in the Cathedral of San Rufino, it is among its alleys that he spent his youth dreaming of a future as a valiant knight, it is here, where the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore stands today, in the Piazza del Vescovado, that he stripped himself, repudiating earthly goods for love of God and his brothers and sisters. It is still in Assisi, in the Church of San Damiano, that praying before the crucifix, he receives the task of renewing the Church of Christ, it is in the town square that he begins his preaching and his work of charity and peace, and it is finally here that he dies in 1226. His remains are preserved in the Basilica of St Francis, but the saint still lives on in every stone of Assisi. Stroll through its enchanting alleyways and visit the Franciscan sites.
