Palio del Cupolone 2025
The 9th edition of the Palio del Cupolone, a historical reenactment event that brings the 19th century to life, will take place from June 13 to June 21 in Piazza Garibaldi, Santa Maria degli Angeli (Assisi).
Born from the desire to rediscover historical roots, the Palio is based on thorough research of historical sources to offer a broad perspective on the great 19th century on an international scale. During the festival, the small Umbrian town transforms into a vast stage, narrating a century of great changes, astonishing discoveries, brilliant inventions, and revolutionary emancipations through theatrical performances, concerts, conferences, competitions, and many other initiatives.
Throughout the event, the three districts of Santa Maria degli Angeli—Rione Fornaci, Rione Ponte Rosso, and Rione Campo—will compete in Piazza Garibaldi for the victory of the Palio del Cupolone. Theatrical performances, historical parades, and traditional games, carefully prepared throughout the year, will form the core of the Palio, alongside concerts and various other activities. The competition will take place in Piazza Garibaldi, where a panel of experts will judge the scenes, parades, and games of each district.
The square will be equipped with grandstands with 800 seats, allowing spectators to comfortably enjoy the key moments of the competition and the festival.
