"Montefalco nel bicchiere" ("Montefalco in a glass") is a series of wine tasting events taking place every Saturday until the 28th October, discovering wine production at the "the balcony of Umbria" and the surrounding area, famed for its treasured wines all over the world.

Each tasting, overseen by an expert sommelier, includes the tasting of four wines, each coming from a different producer: a white wine, which could be Montefalco Bianco Doc, a Trebbiano Spoletino or Grechetto, a Montefalco Rosso Doc, or a Montefalco Sagrantino Docg both in the dry and "passito" versions.

The appointment is every Saturday at 17.00 at the operational headquarters of the "Consorzio Tutela Vini Montefalco e della Strada del Sagrantino" ("The Consortium for the Protection of the Wines of Montefalco and the "Strada del Sagrantino"), in Piazza del Comune in Montefalco.

NEWS: "SAGRANTINO BY BIKE" PHOTOGRAPHIC CONTEST

It's possible to participate to the "Sagrantino by bike" contest until the 18^th April: it's a contest organized by the Consortium for the Safeguarding of Montefalco Wines in order to pay tribute to the 10^th Stage of the Italian Tour, the "Sagrantino Stage" time-trial competition that will cross the districts of the DOCG Montefalco Sagrantino until reaching Montefalco.

In the year when DOCG Montefalco Sgrantino will give the name to the 10^th Stage of the Italian Tour, "Montefalco in the glass" will be the occasion to vote for photographic artworks received by photographers, wine lovers and enthusiasts. All pictures participating in the Contest will be exhibited in the tastings room of the Consortium. Each Saturday, all participants in the "Montefalco in the glass" event could vote for the most beautiful picture. Votes will be counted and the winning picture of the "Sagrantino by bike" Contest will be elected at the end of the tastings cycle which will finish on the 28^th October 2017. The prize will be a wines selection coming from Montefalco.
