East and West. Europe and Asia. Distant worlds, often seen in opposition, yet very close, marked by the humanistic and cultural epic of Byzantium.

A five-day journey with history lessons held by medievalists, writers, scientists and art historians, along the moving frontier of the encounter of different civilisations. A fault line that separates peoples and territories and continuously follows the pendulum of history, through the paths of trade and those of faith: war and peace, schisms and discoveries, contagions and traditions, places and personalities.
