Reading in Nature 2025
From June to September 2025, in locations such as Parco Sant’Anna and Sud Osteria, six free events will take place in Perugia, bringing together literature, spirituality, art, and culture, with the participation of authors, publishers, and academics.
The events are part of the “Reading in Nature” series, set in Parco Sant’Anna, as part of the “Cities That Read 2023” project promoted by the Public Libraries of Perugia. In case of bad weather, meetings will be held in indoor library spaces.
The first event, scheduled for Wednesday, June 25 at 5:00 PM, will be dedicated to Dostoevsky: Natale Fioretto (University for Foreigners of Perugia) will present the book Why Read Dostoevsky, reflecting on the value of reading classics as a form of resistance to contemporary superficiality.
On July 3 at 10:00 AM, publisher Roberto Russo will offer insights into the emotional connections between humans and animals through readings from the book Voices from the Heart. The event welcomes the presence of companion animals.
On July 10 at 5:00 PM, Paola Biribanti and Gabriele De Veris will guide the audience through Italian cinema and visual art, inspired by the book Sharpen the Eye.
The series will close on Thursday, September 4 at 5:00 PM, with a performance by Lucilio Santoni and Alessandro Pertosa, who will bring to life the book The Madmen of Sànpert, exploring a journey between poetry, comics, and human fragility.
