Le Vie di Crispolto 2025
In Bettona, from 11th May to 7th June 2025, the new edition of “Le Vie di Crispolto” takes place: a series of religious and cultural events celebrating the town’s patron saint. The programme opens on 11th May with creative workshops, a solemn Mass, a candlelit procession along the town walls and a final fireworks display. On 12th May, Saint Crispolto’s Day, celebrations continue with a traditional banquet, music in the cloister of the Convent of San Crispolto and a lottery draw.
In the following weeks, the event includes student-guided tours, a documentary screening on the staged retrial of the saint, and a craft and food fair on 18th May featuring local artisans and producers. On 25th May, the Bettona Museum hosts a visit to the exhibition “Etruscans in Bettona”, followed by a presentation of the restored fresco of Saint Crispolto and a concert by Accademia Resonars, with tastings of typical products.
The programme closes on 7th June with a conference on the origins of Christianity in Umbria and the role of Saint Crispolto, exploring early evangelisation, the “Passenses” movement and the spread of devotion in the region.
