Festival delle Corrispondenze 2024

From 4 to 8 September, as per tradition, the 13th edition of the Festival delle Corrispondenze (Correspondence Festival) returns, one of the most eagerly awaited cultural events of Lake Trasimeno and Umbria, in Monte del Lago (Magione).
Five days of meetings, readings, conferences and shows, literary walks and workshops, all with free admission, to tell the world through the fascination of epistolary writing with the most debated and interesting themes of our days at the centre.
The programme includes an exceptional preview, on 1 September, at the Villa del Colle del Cardinale, in Perugia, with Massimo Cacciari and Massimo Arcangeli, who will dialogue on the theme ‘Philosophy today, useless or necessary?’.
On Wednesday 4, at 5 p.m., in Magione, it will be time for the opening ceremony of the Festival, followed at 6 p.m. by the presentation of the book ‘Lettera agli scienziati del futuro’ (Letter to the scientists of the future) by Antonio Ereditato and, at 9.15 p.m., the multimedia monologue ‘Il secolo è mobile. The history of migrations in Europe seen from the future’ by and with Gabriele Del Grande.
On Thursday 5, at 7 p.m., there will be the lecture ‘Un senso di meraviglia’ (A sense of wonder) by Massimo Polidoro from the book ‘Piero Angela | La meraviglia del tutto’ (Piero Angela | The wonder of everything) and, at 9.15 p.m., ‘Non ti manchi mai la gioia’ (Don't you ever miss joy), a meeting with the theologian and philosopher Vito Mancuso.
Friday 6, at 7 p.m., ‘Fabulae. Storia irriverente delle favole dalle origini al mito’, a reading on gender inequality by and with Massimiliano Loizzi and, at 9.15 p.m., ’Presadiretta. Messaggi dall'Italia’, a meeting with journalist and TV presenter Riccardo Iacona, interviewed by Paola Zanca.
Saturday 7, at 7.00 p.m., ‘Dietro le quinte di Chatgtp’, a lectio magistralis by Roberto Battiston and, at 9.30 p.m., ‘Lettere di scuse a Gabriele D'Annunzio’ with comedian, blogger and storyteller Arianna Porcelli Safonov.
On the final day of 8 September, at 6.00 p.m., there will be the Award Ceremony of the XXV edition of the Vittoria Aganoor Pompilj Prize, with Luigina Miccio (coordinator of the Prize), Francesco Bolo Rossini (actor), Stefania Quaglia (Magione Municipality Culture Office) and guests of honour Ricky Tognazzi and Simona Izzo.
Finally, at 9.15 p.m., the Festival will close with Concita De Gregorio and her ‘Lettera a una ragazza del futuro’.
