Discovering Umbria: Light

Discovering Umbria: Light

After the success of the preview at the Palazzo dei Sette in Orvieto, " Discovering Umbria: Light" will be displayed in the splendid Diocesan Civic Museum of Santa Maria dei Servi in Città della Pieve.

The photographic project follows on from last year's one as part of the exhibition "Treasures of the Valnerina" in Spoleto and aims to enhance the Umbrian cultural heritage.

The exhibition "LIGHT" will be open from Thursday, November 1 to Sunday, December 16.

"LIGHT" is a new look at museums, churches and significant places in search of the unexpected. The exhibition consists of ten large-format photos with evocative images from museums and cultural sites in the region, taken by the photographer Marco Giugliarelli.

Historical buildings, museums, convents and significant places have been (re)discovered with the lights off. The lights are focused, day and night, on the protagonists of the project: all those places which are less known in the system of Umbrian cultural heritage, but that in themselves are an integral part of a territory and its cities have become, in fact, a widespread cultural asset.

In the lands of Giotto, Signorelli, Perugino and Burri each museum becomes a witness to the link between community and territory. With over 170 museums, eco-museums and archaeological sites, the significant regional museum network is the main tool for getting to know the cities, villages and landscape of Umbria.

"Discovering Umbria" is an invitation to immerse oneself in hundreds of proposals and curiosities that can arouse intense emotions in those who live them.
