Calvi Festival 2024

The 9th edition of the Calvi Festival will be held from 2 to 31 August and will transform the magnificent village of Calvi dell'Umbria into a place to experience Theatre, Cinema, Music, Art and Nature.
Artistic director Francesco Verdinelli proposes various shows with food for thought on ethical themes that can be an occasion for entertainment and fascination.
The programme includes, on the opening night of 2 August, at the Monastery Gardens Theatre, from 9.15 p.m., the Concert of the ‘Artemisia’ String Quartet formed by Vanessa Cremaschi, Toki Takahashi, Roberta Rosato and Ilaria Calabrò.
Also on 2 August, at 6 pm, in the Foyer of the Monastery Theatre, the inauguration of the exhibition curated by Silvio Versace, entitled ‘Eidos. Le forme dell'idea'.
On 3 August, at 9.15 p.m., at the Teatro dei Giardini del Monastero, Enrico Capuano will be back with his band Tammurriatarock to export local rhythms to Europe, Canada, the USA and Cuba.
On 4 August, at 9.15 p.m., Colm Toibin's play Ismene/Antigone (Pale Sister), with Francesca Bianco and Eleonora Tosto, Matteo Bottini on guitar, directed by Carlo Emilio Lerici, will be performed at the Teatro dei Giardini del Monastero
On 6, 7 and 9 August, there will be a review of short films from ‘Il Globo d'Oro’, an award of the Foreign Press Association with Popular Jury, curated by Vera Shcherbakova.
On 11 August, at the Monastery Theatre, at 6 p.m., there will be a screening of ‘Il Cinema per i Piccoli’, organised by Viatores Umbro Sabini.
On 15 August, at the Teatro del Monastero, at 6.30 p.m., a meeting entitled ‘Navigation as a metaphor for life’, with Prof. Antonio Fresa. 
On 21 August, at the Monastery Gardens, at 21:15, ‘Herlitzka in Dante. Sei canti della Divina Commedia’, with video direction by Mauro Conciatori and theatre direction by Antonio Calenda, with Roberto Herlitzka.
On 31 August, there will be the final evening at the theatre of the Monastery Gardens, at 9.15 pm, with Stefano Fresi in ‘Dell'Amore, della Guerra e degli Ultimi’, a musical performance by Stefano Fresi and Cristiana Polegri: a succession of songs and thoughts taken from the diaries of Fabrizio De Andrè, a piano, a saxophone, a guitar and two voices.
