May Traditions - The Earth Dances
The traditional music of Central Italy regions, hit by the 2016 earthquake, will be the protagonist of "The Earth dances", the fifth edition of "May Traditions", from the 26th to the 28th May in Preci, that since 2010 has been devoting for four years a successful festival to the traditional music and culture.
Together with Umbria, the other regions involved will be Marche, Lazio and Abruzzo: four regions connected by culture, traditional values, roots and desire to rebuild, by looking beyond the earthquake.
The schedule includes concerts, meetings, performances, stages with musicians, singers, players, researchers, folk groups, publishers and manufacturers of musical instruments, but also market exhibitions, walks, free courses open to all to learn how to dance the saltarello, to play the Amatrice's accordion or bagpipe, as well as to learn the traditional Umbrian songs or to play the tambourine in its regional variations.
Furthermore, the Festival will be an occasion to come to Umbria and get to know the areas of Norcia, Preci and Cascia, with their art treasures, knowledge and flavours.
