From 10 to 14 October 2025, the city of Todi will relive its medieval past with the Challenge of San Fortunato, an event dedicated to the patron saint featuring historical reenactments, shows and moments of community. For four days, the streets and squares of the historic centre will become an open-air stage, welcoming visitors and residents alike.

Central to the festival are the archery competitions, including the Challenge of San Fortunato and the Palio dell’Aquila, recalling the martial skills and competitive spirit of the Middle Ages. Alongside these events is the Palio dei Ragazzi, where young participants take part in the tradition.

The medieval market fills the streets with local products and crafts, while the costumed banquets offer the chance to taste dishes inspired by historical recipes.

The programme also includes concerts, theatre performances, falconry, jesters, dancers and staged combat, culminating in the evocative Corteo dei Cortei, a grand historical parade through the city that attracts hundreds of spectators each year.
