The Festival of Museums and the European Night of Museums

The Festival of Museums and the European Night of Museums

After the success of 2017 edition, the Festival of Museum will return on 19th and 20th May. This year the central theme is “Hyper-connected museums: new approaches, new audiences”, with many appointments throughout Italy.

For the occasion the museums, the monumental complexes, the state-owned areas and archaeological parks are going to get closer to the citizens, by offering a special calendar of initiatives and activities open to the public.

The 14th edition of the European Night of Museums will be held during the Festival, in the evening of 19th May, with three hours of special evening opening, for one symbolic euro.

In Umbria there will be many initiatives, from Perugia to Gubbio, from Spoleto to Campello sul Clitunno, from Orvieto to Terni: the list of participating Institutes, the events offered, and the hours of evening openings are continuously updated on the dedicated webpage of the MiBACT website.

The official hashtags to follow and tell the story of the Museum’s Festival on the social networks are: #FestadeiMusei2018 #FDM2018 #NottedeiMusei2018 #NDM18 #MuseiIperconnessi #HyperconnectedMuseum.

The Festival of Museums and the European Night of Museums are included in the calendar of the European Cultural Heritage Year.
