Luminamenti – Contemporary Art Exhibition at Palazzo della Corgna

From June 15 to September 7, 2025, Castiglione del Lago hosts the contemporary art exhibition Luminamenti within the Renaissance setting of Palazzo della Corgna, a historic residence overlooking Lake Trasimeno and a long-time venue for major exhibitions. The show features works by eight artists from various Italian regions — Paola Abbondi, Marisa Cesanelli, Sandro Cordova, Anna Iskra Donati, Maria Teresa Pancella, Massimo Pompeo, Franco Sinisi, Lucia Spagnuolo — invited to engage with the palace's history and architecture.

Luminamenti unfolds as a visual and conceptual journey exploring the relationship between past and present, between the artist’s identity and the space that hosts it. The artistic expressions range from figuration to abstraction, with forays into the informal, balancing individual creativity with collective dialogue.

The core theme of the exhibition is light — not as a physical element, but as a manifestation of inner insight, a bridge between thought and emotion, intellect and spirituality.

Around forty works are displayed throughout the monumental frescoed halls painted by Pomarancio, offering visitors an immersive experience that intertwines art, history, and the soul of the place.

An opportunity to reflect on the value of creativity in an era where human thought interacts with artificial intelligence, reaffirming the instinct for art as an essential aspect of our humanity.
