Giano d'Estate 2025: summer events

From July 6 to August 28, Giano dell’Umbria hosts the 2025 edition of Giano d’Estate, the summer festival dedicated to music, culture, entertainment, and local heritage. The schedule features over 30 events across 18 days, mostly on weekends, designed to attract residents, tourists, and visitors.

The program kicks off with the traditional Festa della Montagna on July 6 and concludes on August 28. Among this year’s main new features are the Wine Night on August 9 — organized in collaboration with the national Città del Vino association — the debut in Giano of the Musica per i Borghi festival, also on August 9, and participation in the Night of Wishes.

There will be plenty of opportunities to explore the area, with hikes on the Martani Mountains and along trails between Giano and Morcicchia. Cultural events will include activities at the Villa of Rufione (July 26–27), celebrations of the 800th anniversary of the Canticle of the Creatures (August 2), and numerous music and dance evenings in the villages (July 20; August 14, 15, 18, 23).

There will also be tastings of local products, children’s shows such as La macchina dei sogni in Fabbri (July 19), dialect theatre performances like Le Pere Cotogne in Montecchio (August 21–22), book presentations and guest talks, including actress Camilla Ferranti in Bastardo on July 12.

The program, curated by council members Jacopo Barbarito and Valeria Santi, is the result of collaboration with local associations such as the pro loco groups of Giano and Montecchio, local marching bands, the Università Agraria, and many actively involved citizens.
