We will visit the 6th century BC Etruscan Necropolis. which presents special characteristics compared to other cities. Then, on foot along a suggestive and scenic route, we will enter the historical centre to visit the Pozzo della Cava and the underground passages that bear traces of a millenary history, then through the Quartiere Medievale, the oldest quarter, where the Etruscan city once stood, we will arrive at the ancient church of S.Giovenale and the church of S.Andrea, where we will descend underground to admire the floor mosaic of the early Christian basilica and the remains of the Etruscan city. Finally, we arrive at the National Archaeological Museum where we can admire splendid artefacts from the Etruscan period and the frescoes of the painted tombs, the unique tombs of Umbria.

Orvieto etrusca: un’intera giornata alla scoperta di un popolo affascinante che visse qui nell’Antichità. Visiteremo la Necropoli etrusca del VI sec. a.C. , che presenta caratteristiche particolari rispetto alle altre città. Poi, a piedi per un suggestivo e panoramico percorso, entreremo nel centro storico per visitare il Pozzo della Cava ed i sotterrani che portano tracce di una storia millenaria, quindi attraversando il Quartiere Medievale, arriveremo all’antica chiesa di S.Giovenale ed alla chiesa di S.Andrea, dove scenderemo nel sottosuolo per ammirare il mosaico pavimentale della basilica paleocristiana ed i resti della città etrusca. Infine arriveremo al Museo Archeologico Nazionale dove potremo ammirare splendidi manufatti di epoca etrusca e gli affreschi delle tombe dipinte, unici in Umbria.
