In Ponte San Giovanni, Perugia, from 3 to 7 September 2025, Velimna – The Etruscans of the River returns for its 23rd edition, dedicated this year to the theme “Artists and Craftsmen in Etruria”. The festival takes visitors on a journey back in time to explore daily life and traditions of the Etruscans, with a rich programme of events combining history, performance and conviviality.

The opening will take place on Wednesday 3 September at the Necropolis of Palazzone, followed by an apericena. From the following day, activities will move to Parco Giuseppe Pascoletti, where the Theatre of the Etruscans will host the Etruscan Aperisimposium, revisiting the ancient ritual of the symposium in a contemporary way, and the dinner “At the table with the Etruscans” curated by archaeo-chef Cristina Conte.

The programme will continue with performances, workshops and children’s activities such as Kamishibai theatre, simulated excavation and the Etruscan goose game. Re-enactments, parades, encampments and audiovisual performances will also enrich the event. From 5 to 7 September, the Etruscan Restaurant will be open, serving traditional dishes and recipes.
