Trevi: Book's Cradle

Trevi: Book's Cradle

"Trevi: Book's Cradle" is the exhibition devoted to the "First ever documented Printing company" born in Trevi in 1470.

The company was founded by the German typographer Johann Reinhard and by the Trevi's lender Ser Costantino di ser Giovanni Lucarini and published two incunabula: the first in 1470 named "Franciscus de Assisio Historia quomod b.

Franciscus petivit a Christo  indulgentiam pro Ecclesia S. mariae de Angelis. Impresse in Trevio Anno Domini M.CCCC.L.XX" and the second, the "Lectura" by Bartolo Sassoferrato, that was printed in 1471.

In the exhibition there will be, beyond two precious works, also the restoration of a printing press dating back to the 1400, made by a Trevi artisan-restorer.

The exhibition, included in the 800th anniversary of the Assisi's Plenary Indulgence of Forgiveness introduction, is open in the Museum Complex of San Francesco di Trevi until the 6th January 2017.
