Palazzo della Penna – Center for Contemporary Arts, in Perugia, hosts from 18 December the monographic exhibition “Tina Modotti. The Work”. The exhibition, on view until 12 April 2026, is dedicated to Tina Modotti, one of the most significant photographers and intellectuals of the twentieth century, and offers a comprehensive overview of her artistic production. The exhibition explores the main themes of her work, from photography as a tool for investigating reality to her focus on social conditions, and the relationship between art and civic engagement, highlighting the coherence and development of her visual language. The works on display provide an opportunity to reconsider Modotti’s experience within the cultural and political context of her time, underlining the historical and formal value of her images. The press conference will take place inside the exhibition and will be attended by Marco Pierini, Deputy Mayor of Perugia for cultural policies.
