Stagione teatrale Teatro Mancinelli di Orvieto 2025
Orvieto, from October 2025 to May 2026, will host at the Teatro Mancinelli the new season entitled “In luce – The theatre lights up the city”, a programme featuring eleven subscription shows and more than forty events overall, ranging from drama, musicals, concerts, stand-up comedy to dance. The chosen title refers both to the theatrical expression that marks the actor’s entrance into the spotlight and to the history of the city which, in 1896, saw the Mancinelli among the first public buildings to be illuminated thanks to the Sugano hydroelectric plant.
The season opens on October 31 with Alessio Boni and Antonella Attili in “Iliad – The Game of the Gods” and continues with major names of the Italian stage such as Cesare Bocci, Vittoria Belvedere, Filippo Timi, Gianfelice Imparato, Giorgio Pasotti, Luca Bizzarri, Francesco Montanari, Umberto Orsini and many more. Alongside drama there will be comedies, literary adaptations, works by Pirandello and Shakespeare, culminating in April 2026 with “Prima del temporale” directed by Massimo Popolizio.
The calendar also features a rich off-subscription programme, including the musical “La seconda stella”, meetings with leading figures from theatre and culture, comedy shows and experimental productions of the Mancinelli Off series. Music has a prominent place, with concerts by Raf, the Ensemble Symphony Orchestra in a tribute to Morricone, “Battisti Legend”, shows dedicated to Pink Floyd and Abba, as well as performances by the Luigi Mancinelli Philharmonic and the Municipal School of Music. Not to be missed are the dance appointments such as the “Tribute to Nureyev” and the seventh edition of “Orvieto in Danza”, while the Teatro Ragazzi section will close the season with three shows dedicated to young audiences.
