From 16th April to 2nd November 2025, the evocative Rocca Maggiore of Assisi hosts Peace on Earth, a major exhibition dedicated to Banksy, the iconic figure of contemporary street art. For the first time in Assisi, over one hundred original works tell the story of the anonymous British artist’s commitment to peace, justice and freedom, in a journey that blends art and activism in the land of Saint Francis.

The exhibition draws inspiration from one of Banksy’s famous graffiti pieces in Bethlehem and centres around the powerful symbol of a dove wearing a bulletproof vest and holding an olive branch in its beak. On display are studio works created between 1998 and 2010, including iconic images such as Girl with Balloon and Flower Thrower, alongside signed screen prints, album covers, videos, books, photographs, and previously unseen materials. The exhibition is open daily during Rocca Maggiore’s opening hours.
