Pasqua d’Artista 2026

From 3 to 6 April 2026 Perugia and Deruta host Pasqua d’Artista – Stories of Ceramics and Chocolate, a programme of events dedicated to the Umbrian ceramic tradition and to the dialogue between artistic craftsmanship, contemporary art and chocolate culture.

In the historic centre of Perugia, the Centro Camerale Alessi – Ex Borsa Merci presents the exhibition “Gran Tour”, dedicated to classical Italian ceramics and enriched by the display of rare pieces from the historic Perugian factory La Salamandra. The exhibition brings together more than one hundred works from the collection of the Italian Association of Cities of Ceramics: unique handmade objects that reinterpret traditional styles and forms, from the archaic period to the Middle Ages, from the Renaissance to the eighteenth century, up to neoclassical, Liberty and design influences.

In Piazza della Repubblica, the event “Ceramica in piazza” features a market-exhibition of Umbrian ceramic cities with live demonstrations, pottery wheel and decoration workshops for all ages led by master artisans, and an installation dedicated to the decoration of a large chocolate egg. The historic centre also hosts “Uova d’artista”, a live painting event on ceramic eggs with artists from across Italy, as well as a historical costume parade by participants of the Palio della Brocca of Deruta.

The programme also includes guided tours, thematic walks dedicated to artistic terracotta and majolica, pottery demonstrations, creative workshops and activities focused on ceramic observation and conservation. Additional initiatives and installations related to Easter traditions are spread throughout the historic centre.

In Deruta, a town known for its majolica production, the historic centre hosts decoration workshops, exhibitions and thematic visits to the Regional Ceramics Museum and the ancient kilns of San Salvatore. Highlights include the unveiling of a large ceramic egg and activities exploring the relationship between ceramics, the art of gift-giving and the tradition of chocolate.
