Perugia and Assisi, from 31 October to 22 November 2025 will host Onora il Padre, the series of words and music conceived by UmbriaEnsemble, which returns for its third edition under the title Il Cantico delle Stelle. Inspired by Saint Francis’s Canticle of the Creatures and part of the official calendar for the eighth centenary of Franciscanism, the project offers a journey of reflection and listening on the relationship between humanity, nature and the divine.

Far from conventional interpretations, Il Cantico delle Stelle rediscovers Francis’s vision as one of gratitude towards creation, where the stars become a symbol of unity between heaven and earth, matter and spirit, faith and knowledge.

The opening concert will take place on Friday 31 October at 9 p.m. in the Basilica di San Pietro in Perugia, featuring the Orchestra Sinfonica delle Cento Città (ICO Lazio).The programme includes works by Hoffmeister, Respighi and Elgar, in a musical journey that invites listeners to “close the eyes of the senses and open those of the spirit.”

The series continues at the Biblioteca di San Francesco del Monte in Perugia with meetings dedicated to philosophy, science and music, concluding on 22 November in Assisi at Palazzo Bonacquisti with a poetry lecture and a concert entitled The Beauty of the Invisible.
