Olivetti, storia di un progetto culturale
From 13 June to 22 September 2024 it will be possible to take part, at the Auditorium Bortolotti in Narni, in the exhibition 'Olivetti, history of a cultural project', an exhibition that recounts the value of culture as a strategic tool of the company and as a factor of cultural growth of society, according to various declinations and spheres of influence, from the factory to the territory.
The complexity and richness of decades of Olivetti's cultural enterprise are outlined: the Olivetti Library and Cultural Centre, popular courses, major exhibitions and restorations. But it is precisely in this wide-ranging cultural context that every company activity finds its own organisational and design value: whether for the innovation of a new product, or for the aesthetics of the bodywork; whether for non-invasive and evocative advertising, or for the creation of factory and residential architecture on a human scale, or for communicating the idea of respect and dignity due to women.
Inevitable, of course, in this context is the reference to avant-garde initiatives in the field of social services aimed not only at Olivetti workers, but especially at all the people who lived in the area where the company's factories were located.
