Japan Pop 2025
From July 19 to November 16, 2025, Palazzo della Penna in Perugia presents Japan Pop, an exhibition offering a broad overview of contemporary Japanese visual culture, exploring the languages and aesthetics that have shaped the global perception of Japanese imagery. The exhibition unfolds through the roots of the otaku phenomenon, the evolution of anime and manga, and arrives at the Superflat art movement, which emerged in the late 1990s under the influence of Takashi Murakami.
