Gubbio Carnival

Gubbio Carnival

The Candles Town is going to host again the Kids’ Carnival, now in its 58th edition: on Sunday 11th February the streets of Gubbio will come alive with masked groups and allegorical floats.

The calendar of the day follows.

2.45 pm: gathering at the Roman Theatre’s car park and preparation of the parade

3 pm: start of the parade along the streets and squares of the historical centre (itinerary: Viale del Teatro Romano, Via Matteotti, Via Mazzatinti, Via Reposati, Via Armanni, Corso Garibaldi, Via della Repubblica, Piazza Quaranta Martiri).

5.30 pm: awarding of the Mask Trophy called “Miozzi Stefano Goldsmith Prize”

6 pm: conclusion of the event and awarding ceremony in piazza 40 Martiri.

The exhibition “Extinction. Before and after the disappearance of dinosaurs” is also getting decorated in festive mood on the weekend of Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th February, by offering its visitors a Carnival among dinosaurs: a creative laboratory where it will be possible to create funny masks and decorations in order to get an authentic “dinosaur-style” costume that will turn into the awesome T. Rex, into the singing Parasaurolophus or into the grouchier Triceratops.
