The 2024 edition of the Corsa Rosa, which will be held from 4 to 26 May 2024, will touch the Umbria region on 10 and 11 May.

The Giro caravan of about 2300 people, which for 25 days will move throughout Italy, will guarantee the show that then millions of fans live, both in the streets and on TV.

Scheduled for May 10, the seventh stage of the Giro, the Foligno-Perugia time trial, 42 km, which will give fans the opportunity to live a day with the great champions of the two wheels. 

The mostly flat route will cross the land of San Francesco. From Foligno you will reach Spello, then Capitan Loreto, Santa Maria degli Angeli, and Ponte San Giovanni to get to the center of Perugia.

A return after only three years from the stages of 17 and 19 May 2021 that have seen international protagonists Umbria.

The next day, May 11, the caravan will depart from Spoleto towards Prati di Tivo, in Abruzzo (153 km). From Spoleto cross the Umbrian Apennines to reach the Gran Sasso massif.

In all the stage cities, the Giro will be preceded by a calendar of approaching events with cycling and cycling as protagonists.

On 9 May at 4 p.m. in the Sala dei Notari is the national conference 'The future of cycling passes through safety'. A reflection on the state of health of the Italian cycling movement and road safety for cyclists and pedestrians.

Foligno is also ready to welcome the Giro d'Italia with many events. On 10 May, numerous initiatives will be promoted, such as the exhibition of flag-wavers and young people of the Ente Giostra, the parade in baroque costumes of the Quintana, and the bicycle-themed allegorical float. During the day, it will be possible to taste typical Umbrian products.

On 10 May in Perugia, there will be a screening of the 2019 Oscar-nominated film 'Wonderful Losers' by Lithuanian director Arunas Matelis, from which a positive message for the world of professional cycling will be conveyed.

In Spoleto, in conjunction with the 8th stage of the Giro d'Italia, fun activities for children, exhibitions, conferences, musical, cultural and sporting events, tastings, guided tours and activities in collaboration with local schools will be scheduled.
