Giornate del Patrimonio 2024
The 2024 Heritage Days, an initiative promoted by the Municipality of Perugia in cooperation with the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio dell'Umbria, will be held on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 September, and will be an important opportunity to rediscover the treasures of Perugia restored thanks to the Art Bonus project.
The theme chosen for this edition is ‘Heritage on the Way’ and reflects the desire to promote a tourism capable of enhancing the link between history and territory, directly involving the community.
Two routes have been designed for the event, to be covered on foot or by bicycle, lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes, in the historic centre of Perugia.
The first, ‘Justice and Peace Route’, which will start at 9:15 a.m., will have the following itinerary: Palazzo dei Priori atrium door, Pietra della Giustizia, the portal of the Municipal Council, Gonfalone and Agnus Dei, the windows of the Sala dei Notari, the historic doors of the Palazzo overlooking Piazza IV Novembre, Fontana Maggiore, Scale della Pace, Fonte Lomellina, Pozzo del Castellano, Porta San Girolamo, XX Giugno Monument.
The second, ‘Art and Theatre Route’, will start at 11.15 a.m. and will give the opportunity to discover restored places related to art and theatre. In particular, it will start from the Perugino statue in the Carducci Gardens, the Madonnina in Via Oberdan, the frescoes and ancient manuscripts in the Augusta Library (Saturday morning only), the Morlacchi Theatre, the Etruscan well in Via dei Priori and the Oddi Chapel in the San Francesco al Prato Auditorium.
