Events in Città della Pieve
From June 2025 to January 2026, Città della Pieve presents a vibrant calendar of events spanning the seasons, featuring music, contemporary art, historical reenactments, local folklore, and food and wine traditions. Nestled among the Umbrian hills, the town welcomes residents and visitors on a journey that enhances both the cultural and scenic aspects of the territory.
Autumn brings a new exhibition season, including “Emanazione” by Michèle Demarque (September 27 – October 19), and cultural events like the Masgalano Prize, the Valerio Bittarello Award (October 4), the Zafferiamo festival (November 1–2) dedicated to saffron—the “red gold” of Città della Pieve—and the Poesia Trasimeno project (November 8–9).
Winter begins with the Nativity Scenes Exhibition (from December 6) and the lighting of the Christmas Tree (December 7), followed by the traditional Monumental Nativity Scene by Terziere Castello (December 25 – January 6), New Year's Eve in the Square, and the joyful Befana’s Descent from the Tower (January 6).
The annual program is enriched by a series of art exhibitions curated by Andrea Baffoni, including “Umbria Novecento,” a tribute to 20th-century Umbrian art (until July 6), “Altrove” by Antonia Leonardi and Raffaella Franci (July 20 – August 24), and Mario Ortolani’s solo show “50 Years of Painting” (August 11 – September 7).
For those seeking an authentic experience rooted in Italian culture, Città della Pieve remains an ideal destination—balanced between art, nature, history, and quality of life.
