Collezione d'arte. Da Signorelli a Burri 2025-2026

From 12 December 2025 to 1 March 2026, the exhibition Collezione d’arte. Da Signorelli a Burri is open to the public at Palazzo Montani Leoni in Terni. The exhibition presents a selection of works from the collection of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Terni e Narni. Bringing together forty-five pieces chosen from a larger body of works, the exhibition guides visitors through eight centuries of art history, from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century.

The exhibition opens with works from the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries and continues with the Renaissance, including a panel painting by Luca Signorelli. The itinerary then moves on to the seventeenth century and the Baroque period, before reaching eighteenth-century Venice with a view of St Mark’s Square by Francesco Guardi, alongside landscape views connected to the local area, including the Marmore Falls.

The nineteenth century and early twentieth century introduce a more realistic and light-focused approach to painting, leading to Impressionist experiences documented by works by Alfred Sisley and Camille Pissarro. The final section of the exhibition is devoted to the twentieth century, with works by Alberto Burri and Agostino Bonalumi, as well as artists from Umbria or active in the region, including Orneore MetelliAurelio De Felice and Umberto Prencipe. The exhibition is complemented by portraits, sculptures and selected objects that further enrich the presentation of the collection.
