August in Montefalco
The four rioni of Montefalco are ready to challenge each other to win the "Falco d'Oro" (the golden hawk): the Agosto Montefalchese festival opens with the extraordinary Renaissance Banquet, and the historical re-enactment of the Fuga del Bove (The Flight of the Ox).
Until the 19th August, concerts, shows as well as food and wine tastings enrich the summer in the "Balustrade of Umbria" as Montefalco is known: the four neighbourhoods of S. Agostino, S. Bartolomeo, S. Fortunato and S. Francesco will animate the narrow streets and lanes of the town.
Exhibitions of flag-wavers and drummers, the crossbow shooting, the relay, historical parades and the historical-artistic performance are going to transform the wonderful Piazza del Comune (District's Square) in an open-air theatre, waiting for the 19th August when we are getting to the heart of the Flight of the Ox.
