A Natale regalati Orvieto 2025
In Orvieto, from 20 November 2025 to 6 January 2026, A Natale Regalati Orvieto will offer a varied programme spread across streets, squares and cultural sites. The event will open with the celebration at the “Luigi Fumi” Library, followed by the lighting of the Christmas decorations, the opening of the Christmas market and the ice rink in Piazza della Repubblica, accompanied by the artistic video projections of the “Palazzi Magici”. The Great Tree in Piazza Duomo and the Light Tree at the Pozzo di San Patrizio will also be illuminated. On 8 December the Milan-Cortina Olympic torch will pass through the historic centre.
From 23 December to 6 January, the Nativity Circuit will return with over thirty handcrafted nativity scenes displayed in palaces, churches and neighbourhoods. The medieval quarter will host the Nativity in the Pozzo della Cava and the living nativity organised by PresepeOrvieto, while the village of Sugano will present its own re-enactment on 4 January. Local businesses will enrich the festive atmosphere with initiatives such as “Extra Friday – Moda&Gusto” and artisan markets throughout the city.
Children and families can enjoy theatrical visits, creative workshops, themed games and educational activities in cultural sites, together with the Orvieto Christmas Tour featuring a special audio guide for younger visitors. The cultural calendar will include the return of Il Libro Parlante, exhibitions, conferences and talks. The Teatro Mancinelli will host plays, musicals, dance performances and concerts, while the Duomo and other venues will welcome musical events by local choirs and associations. From 30 December to 3 January, Orvieto will also host Umbria Jazz Winter #32.
The programme will conclude on 6 January with the Firefighters’ Befana in Piazza del Popolo.
