"A Holy Year: Church Jubilees from Pope Leo XIII to Pope Francis"

An exhibition dedicated to past Jubilees, both ordinary and extraordinary, which took place from 1900 to 2000: it's the exhibition "Anno Santo. I Giubilei della Chiesa da Leone XIII a Francesco" (A Holy Year: Church Jubilees from Pope Leo XIII to Pope Francis), which can be visited until the 11th December 2016 at Palazzo Bonacquisti in piazza del Comune, in Assisi.


The exhibition documents and focuses on the eight jubilee events with photographs, films and material discovered in historical and factual archives including the Istituto Luce, Rai Teche, the Centro Televisivo Vaticano (Vatican Television Center), the Alinari Photographic Archive, the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze (National Central Library), TV2000 and the Enciclopedia Treccani.

Completing the exhibition are also two important collections of medals, coins, ex-voto, postcards, porcelain, newspapers from the time and other documents which characterised each Jubilee, as well as an area dedicated to this year's Jubilee.
