Scheggino Donna 2025

On July 26 and 27, the village of Scheggino, in the heart of Valnerina, will host a new edition of "Scheggino Donna", the summer event dedicated to historical memory and cultural promotion of the area.

The event commemorates a significant episode in local history: over five centuries ago, during an attack on the village, it was the women who courageously defended the community, as the men were away working in the woods and fields. The assault was successfully repelled thanks to the determination and resourcefulness of the local women, who used every means available to fight off the invaders. This symbolic episode will be brought to life through a participatory narration that, as every year, involves the social and cultural fabric of the territory.
The two-day event will feature numerous initiatives: the historic center will be transformed into an experiential journey that bridges memory and modernity, with a particular focus on women, artistic expression, and local identity.

Now a staple of the Umbrian summer, the initiative offers a chance to discover—or rediscover—the authentic charm of Scheggino, with its medieval alleys, evocative views, and atmosphere steeped in history. The goal is to create a dialogue between past and present, giving voice to collective and individual stories that continue to shape the soul of the community.
