From August 28th to September 7rd, the village of Valfabbrica will transform into a charming medieval setting with the Autumn Festival. The start of the festivities will be marked by the handing over of the keys by the Mayor to the Prior, followed by the investiture and oath of the knights of the Osteria, Badia, and Pedicino districts. Characteristic events will include the torch race, popular games with the challenge between Valfabbrica and Ripa, and district competitions at the Campo de li Giochi. The town center streets will come alive with medieval encampments and a historical parade that will accompany the knights to the Giostra d'Italia (Joust of Italy), an equestrian challenge featuring skill tests such as the ring joust, the Saracen joust, and direct combat. Along the streets of the historic center, a tavern with dishes inspired by medieval tradition will be set up, while a medieval banquet will conclude the festivities. Particularly anticipated are the three evening reenactments, true spectacles that will immerse Valfabbrica in a unique medieval atmosphere for three nights, with historical narrations illuminated exclusively by fires, involving nobles, armed men, musicians, and dancers. Furthermore, a photographic exhibition will be set up at the civic museum to trace the significant stages of the reenactment from 1974 to the present day.
