From March 29th to May 4th, 2025, the elegant halls of Palazzo della Corgna in Castiglione del Lago will host Miti e Figure nel Concrezionismo (Myths and Figures in Concretionism), a solo exhibition by sculptor Fernando Mario Paonessa, curated by art critic Niccolò Lucarelli. The exhibition offers a fascinating dialogue between classical and contemporary art, set against the backdrop of Pomarancio’s Renaissance frescoes and the material works of Paonessa, a leading figure of “concretionism”—a sculptural technique that enhances the malleability and expressive power of matter.

The sculptures, full of tension and spirituality, reinterpret Greek mythology in a modern light, transforming each figure into a reflection on the human soul and its contradictions.
For the first time, the exhibition itinerary will extend into the tower of the Medieval Fortress, creating a striking blend of art and 13th-century architecture.

The event is promoted by Lagodarte Impresa Sociale, under the patronage of the Municipality of Castiglione del Lago, the local section of Italia Nostra, and the association I Borghi più Belli d’Italia.

The exhibition is open daily from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm. Entry is included with the ticket to Palazzo della Corgna and the Medieval Fortress.
