Montefalco, from 1 to 19 August 2025, hosts the 52nd edition of the Fuga del Bove, a historical reenactment that enlivens the Umbrian village with cultural, sporting and gastronomic events. The opening is marked by the Renaissance Banquet on 1 August. The central days feature the Historical Parade (11 August), accompanied by drummers and flag bearers, and the shows staged by the districts (12 and 13 August), full of colour and rhythm. The key event takes place on 19 August with the famous Ox Race, recalling the ancient “Fuga del Bove” and intensifying rivalries and passion. Throughout the period, the taverns of the four districts — San Bartolomeo, San Fortunato, San Francesco and Sant’Agostino — remain open, offering local specialties and opportunities for meeting. The medieval atmosphere resonates through the urban fabric of Montefalco, with the square and streets becoming the natural stage for these celebrations of history, community and tradition.
