Gubbio, on March 18, 2026, renews the tradition of the Focaroni di San Giuseppe, a historic event honoring the patron saint of carpenters. The celebration, particularly cherished in the city thanks to the Università dei Falegnami, an association of local artisans, has its roots in ancient rites blending pagan and Christian elements, marking the arrival of spring and the cycle of life. The evening begins at 7:15 PM with a symbolic procession: a lit torch will be carried in turn by children from the four neighborhoods, signaling the start of the fire lighting.
