Terni's district celebrates Easter with an absolute innovation: the Umbria Jazz s return in the St. Valentine's Town with the spring edition.

The calendar also includes, beyond the big music, several events, among ancient country practices and spirituality.

Terni

The Dead Christ's Procession is going to take place in Terni on the Holy Friday, with departure at 9 pm at the St. Francis' Square. The itinerary is going to cross different areas of the city and is then returning to the Square.

The Stations of the Cross is also taking place In Marmore, always on the Holy Friday, with the historical reenactment of Christ's passion: from the Marmore's Church (where the Last Supper will be relived), it will cross some small squares and characteristic spots of the village until reaching the Campacci's Park, where the last stations (process, crucifixion, death and resurrection) will be performed.

All the performance will be lit and accompanied by inspiring music, with more than 100 figures in costume.

 

Arrone

After the Holy Friday's Stations of the Cross with departure from St. Mary's Church, the traditional Fair is taking place at the sport facilities on the Easter Monday.

 

Ferentillo

The "De Lu Ciuccittu Competition", now in its 46^th edition, is taking place also this year in Ferentillo from the 15^th to the 17^th April. The festival is linked to the old country practices, when it was necessary to obtain as many eggs as possible to prepare the traditional "Easter's Cakes". Therefore this competition, reliving in the Ferentillo's village on the Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, was born. During the competition the contenders will "beat" eggs tip against tip: the winner is the person who will manage to keep the egg intact.

It will be possible to taste, from Saturday to Monday, the typical truffle omelette and other typical products, at the specifically adapted stands.

 

Stroncone

Holy Friday's Stations of the Cross with departure from St. Nicola's Church.

Vasciano (Stroncone's Hamlet)

Procession of Easter Monday until Narni's Franciscan Speco. Departure at 9.30 am and following exchange of presents among Itieli and St. Urban's Communities, open air mass and release of doves as symbol of peace.
