Artwork from Corpi d'aria in Spoleto

Corpi d'aria 2025

From June 28 to January 11, 2026, the second floor of Palazzo Collicola in Spoleto hosts Corpi d’aria, a solo exhibition by Stefano Cerio, curated by Stefano Chiodi. The show presents two photographic series acquired through the Ministry of Culture’s “Strategia Fotografia” project: Aquila (2019–2021) and Brenva (2023).

In Aquila, Cerio places inflatable structures—such as churches and slides—within the landscape surrounding the city struck by the 2009 earthquake. These playful elements revive spaces marked by silence and emptiness, prompting reflections on memory.

Brenva focuses on the glacier at the foot of Mont Blanc. A large inflatable wall is positioned where the glacier once ended, making visible the space lost to climate change. The work becomes a symbol of physical and perceptual boundaries.

Through photography and environmental art, Cerio examines the transformation of the landscape, suggesting new ways of perceiving the present.
