Throughout EXPO 2015, the great Universal Exposition in Milan from 1 May to 31 October 2015, Umbria shall present its technological and cultural innovations concerning the principle themes on the future of the planet.

UMBRIA AT EXPO 2015

Umbria is offered up as the place in which to experience slow-living: an equilibrium between age-old traditions and innovation; between production and consumption in a sustainable and responsible manner.
Umbria will be in four different locations at EXPO 2015 to present its multitude of cultural and productive aspects.

In the Italian Pavilion from 31 July to 20 August, Umbria will highlight its qualities of "Knowledge" and "Crafting", proposing a journey through local production and traditions.

Throughout the six months in the Wine Hall, there will be as many as 32 Umbrian labels, whilst in the Chocolate Pavilion space shall be dedicated to the "Chocolate District" of Perugia-Umbria, recognised as one of three such districts nationally together with Modica and Turin.

Umbria will also be present for each of the six months in the Cascina Triulza, dedicated to the third sector, which will host Sensational Umbria by Steve McCurry as well as productive elements of the agricultural sector.

Umbria green heart of Cascina Triulza will be the leitmotif binding all the initiatives developed by the Umbria region, amongst which is an important project on the theme of agricultural gardens, in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Perugia and the Parco Tecnologico Alimentare 3A.

But EXPO does not finish here: Fuori Expo will be hosting events also outside of the Exposition.

Umbria - Trade Centre and Region – has begun a collaboration with the Association for Industrial Design (ADI). At the ADI headquarters, located in the centre of Milan, an Umbria Expo Space will be set up to provide for the creation of a Food Design Lab and Temporary Restaurant for the six months of Expo. Another opportunity to present to the world the many facets of the green heart of Italy.

EXPO 2015 IN UMBRIA

Umbria is ready to also welcome to its territory all those who wish to discover and appreciate first-hand the quality of life and local produce. A series of events throughout the region, for the duration of the Universal Exhibition, will facilitate the discovery of Umbria in all its aspects.

"On the roads of Benedict and Francis. From Norcia to Assisi" will be the first of a series of occasions to get to know Umbria. A journey on foot shall take place from 15 to 20 June 2015 along the roads that have marked fundamental moments in the history of Umbrian spirituality. Commencing in Norcia, the route is approximately 110 kilometres and includes six stops, with a distance of around 20 kilometres between each. Encountered along the journey through this green land shall be churches, abbeys, monasteries and ancient towns perfectly integrated with the natural landscape. A unique scenario, to experience leisurely, to become completely immersed in the tranquillity of nature.
